“I consider myself a critical maker, questioning our interactions with the world through materials and objects.”

Sustainability, 2010-2020
Situated between art, design, and craft, this body of work explores intersections between sustainability, technology, and our behaviors in our complex world. The work in this series presents some of our current cultural dilemmas surrounding consumerism, security, natural and technological worlds. These works ask the viewer to consider where their own values fit in these complex questions and tradeoffs.
Craft & Technology, 2003-2010
The work in this series explores the connections between textiles and technology from historical, constructional, physical and conceptual perspectives. Textiles share historical connections to technology, its object oriented process serving as the blue print for the immaterial processing of computing; They also share a constructional make-up - knitting together codes of base-two patterns - knits and purls, zeros and ones. Cloth provides the comfort and security of an object, it is tangible code we can see and understand.
Site Specific Installations
I often create work as installations and adapt work to fit spaces. These pieces however were created for specific sites where the location was chosen first, and then the idea and piece constructed.
